Halls Window Center Reminds Customers to Claim $200 Tax Credit for Purchase of Energy Star Windows

Sacramento, CA (PRWeb) March 14, 2007 -- In light of tax time, Halls Window Center is issuing a reminder that all consumers of the company's Energy Star rated windows during the year of 2006 qualify for a tax credit of up to 10% of the purchase price up to $200.

With tax time in full swing, Americans are looking for as many avenues as possible to save money on taxes. And though many people may have heard about tax savings for purchasing Energy Star products, these potential savings are often overlooked in the piles of tax paperwork.

Tax savings from the purchase of Energy Start products can be quite significant. This tax benefit reduces the amount of taxes that consumers of Energy Star products are required to pay--unlike a tax deduction which only reduces taxable income. Therefore, the applicable tax deduction for Halls Window Center customers who purchased Energy Star windows will be subtracted from the total amount of taxes owed.

"We take pride in offering replacement windows that add value and benefit to multiple aspects of our customer's lives. Not only are the windows we choose to provide extremely high quality, they also incorporate recycled materials and reduce energy consumption to protect the environment for the community now and in the future. Then there is also the monthly energy bill savings and the nice tax credit benefit at the end of the year that we are proud to have helped our customers enjoy," says Bob Grandinetti, President of Sacramento's Halls Window Center.

Energy Star tax credits were introduced as an effort to encourage consumers to make environmentally friendly choice that lead to the conservation of natural resources. In order for windows to earn the Energy Star rating, they must meet strict energy efficiency guidelines and pass the stringent testing and certification process standardized by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC), an independent third party agency.

Windows that earn the highly coveted Energy Star rating, including the Renewal by Anderson windows from Halls, normally include one or more advanced technology features such as multiple glass panes, gas filled spacers between panes that aid in insulation, Low E Glass, and advanced technology frame materials that reduce heat transfer.

Other home improvement purchases that can qualify for the Energy Star tax credit include storm doors, water heaters, HVAC systems, roofing, and solar energy systems. In order to claim the tax credit, individuals must file IRS form 5695 along with their tax return. The form can be downloaded directly from the IRS website at http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f5695.pdf.

About Halls Window Center: Halls Window Center takes great pride in its contribution to the Sacramento area over the years and believes in transparency of business operations. Sacramento residents can also use the company website to locate detailed maps of homes throughout Sacramento that have chosen Halls as their Sacramento window replacement company.
