Georgia Attorney Honored with Tradition of Excellence Award

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) April 26, 2007 -- Paul Kilpatrick, Jr., a partner and trial lawyer at Pope, McGlamry, Kilpatrick, Morrison & Norwood, LLP, a prominent Georgia law firm specializing in civil litigation, has been named as a recipient of the 2007 Tradition of Excellence Award by the State Bar of Georgia's General Practice and Trial Section. Other recipients of the 2007 award are Justice Carol W. Hunstein, Lemuel Hugh Kemp and Charles James Driebe, Jr.

This award has achieved great significance in the legal community, with members of the State Bar of Georgia participating in the selection process. Kilpatrick and the other award recipients will be honored at the Annual Meeting of the State Bar of Georgia, June 14-16, 2007.

Tradition of Excellence Award winners are selected from Georgia lawyers who have demonstrated over 20 years of outstanding achievement as trial lawyers, general practitioners or judges. Candidates must also have made significant contributions to Continuing Legal Education (CLE) or bar activities, have a strong record of community service and a personal commitment to excellence.

In addition to his distinguished practice as a trial lawyer, Kilpatrick's career is highlighted by his work with the State Bar of Georgia, where he served as a past president, a member of the Board of Governors, and chair of the Board of Bar Examiners.

Kilpatrick is actively involved in the community, working closely with the United Way, and serving on the boards of both Our House United Methodist Children's Home in Columbus, Georgia and the Methodist Home for Children and Youth in Macon, Georgia Kilpatrick also serves on the Administrative Board at St. Luke United Methodist Church of Columbus, Georgia, where he teaches Sunday School.

Kilpatrick joins a prestigious group of previous Tradition of Excellence award winners, including Bobby Lee Cook, Judge J. Robert Elliott, Judge Anthony A. Alaimo, Frank Jones, Judge Marvin Shoob, Griffin Bell, Justice Robert Benham, Chief Justice Norman Fletcher, and Judge Willis B. Hunt, to name only a few.
