Kazmierczak and Kazmierczak known for its Social Security Disability Work Launches Veterans Disability Lawyer Site; Provides Information on Veterans C

The law firm of Kazmierczak and Kazmierczak is mainly known for its Social Security Disability work. However, recently a new law was passed that will allow veterans in compensation and pension cases to hire lawyers much earlier in the disability process. As a result of this new law and in an effort to explain it Karl Kazmierczak decided to start a veterans disability site.

"When I read about the new law I decided to research it on the internet and I found almost nothing on the subject and not much more on veterans disability for that matter," Kazmierczak said. "I began to write on my Ultimate disability Guide site about veterans compensation and the new law and it got to the point were it I realized it should be its own website."

For years veterans have had difficulty finding lawyers to represent them for disability claims before the Department of Veteran Affairs due to a ban on hiring lawyers. If a veteran filed his or her Notice of Disagreement before June 20, 2007 the veteran was not able to hire a lawyer until after the Board of Veteran Appeals made a final determination. It can take as much as two and a half years or more before a determination is reached by the BVA. With the new law in affect veterans are able to get a lawyer as soon as they file a Notice of Disagreement which is much earlier in the process. Not everyone is happy with the new law and some groups are trying to change it back. One argument expressed by these groups is that lawyers do not know VA law and would be taking money from the veterans without actually helping the veterans. Lawyers would argue however that they are trained to learn new laws and required to zealously represent their client. It is also important to note that all fees must be reasonable and they will have to be approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs. Most attorneys will base their fee on a contingency agreement which means they only get paid if they win.

One group of attorneys Kazmierczak believes will make a smooth transition into this field is those lawyers who handle Social Security Disability cases. First, these lawyers are accustomed to dealing with a large government agency. Second, Social Security Disability Lawyers (http://www.kazmierczaklaw.com)have an in depth understanding of disability issues including dealing with large medical record files. Lastly, they are experienced in administrative hearings and federal court work. You will always have some who oppose the new law but ask the veteran who has been fighting to get the benefits they deserve for years if they wish they had a lawyer early on in the process.
