JK Harris Helps Georgia Man Rid Himself of Tension, Tax Troubles
North Charleston, SC (PRWEB) February 3, 2008 -- Owing back taxes to the IRS is bad enough. But owing the State of Georgia as well, can increase the tension even more. However, there are programs, such as the Offer in Compromise program, to help taxpayers in this situation.
Already struggling to make ends meet, Kenneth Roberts had seen tough financial times. Then he found out he owed over $48,800 in federal taxes and $14,000 in taxes to the State of Georgia. That's when he turned to JK Harris and Company, LLC, for help.
Roberts' tension and stress was mounting daily due to the tax debt that was hanging over him. He tried to fix his tax problems on his own, but soon became frustrated. Roberts was trying to meet his financial obligations and found himself unable to pay his mounting tax bills. He contracted with JK Harris, the nation's largest tax resolution company, to assist him in filing for an Offer in Compromise.
An Offer in Compromise is an agreement between the taxpayer and the government that settles a tax liability for payment of less than the full amount owed. The IRS will generally accept an Offer in Compromise when it is unlikely that the tax liability can be collected in full and the amount offered reasonably reflects collection potential. Health problems and an initial denial on the federal Offer in Compromise made the situation tougher on Roberts. JK Harris, however, appealed the IRS' decision and submitted another offer. This time, the IRS accepted it, and Roberts was relieved.
According to the Case Specialist that worked Roberts' case, it took some time and lots of patience, but the results were well worth it in the end. Roberts was able to save over $43,000 on his federal taxes and over $8,900 that he owed the State of Georgia.
"Many years of nail-biting and tension was finally resolved with the help of JK Harris and my Case Specialist," said Roberts. "What a welcome relief, now I can live without all that tension!"
