American Association for People with Disabilities and Allsup Team to Deliver Tax Information via AAPD Justice for All Blog
Belleville, IL (Vocus) March 25, 2008 -- With tax returns due in just a few weeks, the American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD) is featuring a tax column series by Paul Gada, financial planning director for Allsup Inc., in the association's Justice for All blog, JFAActivist (www.jfactivist.org).
"Tax season is particularly complex this year with many questions surrounding the tax rebate. The tax column provides us with a way to help educate our members and the overall disabilities community and, through the interactive nature of our blog, provide a discussion about tax issues," according to Anne Sommers, AAPD's policy counsel and moderator of the JFAActivist blog.
The initial column (http://jfactivist.typepad.com/jfactivist/2008/03/how-the-tax-reb.html) focuses on the tax rebate, and upcoming articles will look at credits, deductions and other considerations specific to helping people with disabilities better understand and reduce their tax burden. Readers also are encouraged to post their questions, and common tax issues raised in the discussions will be addressed in future columns.
"People often pay too much in taxes because they aren't aware of credits or deductions available to them," said Allsup's Gada. "Yet, the savings can be considerable and should be a fundamental part of any financial planning for people with disabilities."
