Taxpayer From West Virginia Hires Roni Deutch's Law Firm After Bad Experiences With A Competitor
North Highlands, CA (PRWEB) October 4, 2008 -- Through placement on the IRS' Currently Not Collectible status, The Tax Lady Roni Deutch, and her team of attorneys, were able to find relief for a West Virginian taxpayer struggling to meet basic living expenses.
The Flohrs of Falling Waters, WV found themselves behind on their taxes, and because of excess IRS penalties and fees their total tax liability had added up to an unrealistic amount. Between huge payments to the IRS, and a skyrocketing cost of living, the Flohrs were unable to meet basic living expenses. They had been working with another tax settlement company for months before calling Ms. Deutch's office and while the other company was able to reduce the total liability, the settlement proposed was not one that Mr. Flohr could afford.
Shortly after contacting Ms. Deutch's office Mr. Flohr decided to retain the law firm for placement on the IRS' Currently Not Collectible (CNC) status, which protects a taxpayer from IRS collections. It demonstrates to the IRS that a taxpayer cannot afford a monthly payment to the IRS, let alone to full pay their back tax liability. This is done by proving to the IRS that a taxpayer's monthly living expenses exceeds his or her gross monthly income and that the taxpayer does not have any valuable assets that could be easily liquidated to pay off the IRS tax debt.
"Mr. Flohr hired us for CNC," notes attorney John Wetenkamp. "When we needed information from him he provided it right away without the need for multiple requests. The IRS is constantly asking for the most recent documentation to prove a taxpayer's income, expenses, or the value of assets."
Attorney Wetenkamp continued, "once we had all the financial information we needed to move forward, I was concerned because it looked like he was not going to qualify for the service he hired us to perform. We sent him an analysis letter in which we thoroughly explained how the IRS would view his financial situation based on the information so far provided. Mr. Flohr obviously took the time to go through the letter carefully, and he responded to all the pertinent challenges."
In the time that passed since Mr. Flohr had last communicated with the IRS and initially contacted our office, his financial information had dramatically changed. His business income had significantly decreased and he had sold one of his automobiles.
"He identified some changes that needed to be made based upon changes in his life," explained Wetenkamp. "We incorporated the changes in his financial statement based on his response to the analysis letter. Once updated, it looked like he would qualify for CNC status."
At that time, Attorney Wetenkamp called the IRS and disclosed the financials. The case was forwarded on to an IRS manager and approved shortly thereafter.
Mr. Flohr was patient throughout the entire process. His case was resolved without any major problems.
"I think the key to success on this case was that Mr. Flohr was patient and willing to really read the analysis letter and give a thoughtful response. Sometimes clients get our office's analysis letter (which examines their financial situation and may inform them that they currently do not qualify for the service they retained the firm for because their finances had changed) and they throw their hands up in the air and just give up. They fail to realize that the analysis letter is not the end of the road, it is just a request for updated, corrected, or completed information and a request to make a decision as to how the client wants to proceed."
"Everyone at Roni's law office was nice and helpful," claimed Mr. Flohr. "I am so relieved to have finally settled my tax problems."

Pending Federal Law Threatens All Copyright Owners says the Hodgson Law Group The Shawn Bentley Orphan Works Act of 2008 (S. 2913) "Orphan Works Act of 2008" (H.R. 5889) allows anyone to use a copyrighted work without first obtaining permission. The user can later claim that a diligent search was conducted but the owner could not be found in any later action for infringement. This new legislation will apply to all copyright owners whether or not the work was previously registered with the Copyright Office. The legislation threatens the rights of artists, photographers, composers, film makers, publishers, and visual artists says the Hodgson Law Group. The Copyright Office not only endorses this legislation, but also advocates further changes that go beyond the proposed statute in reducing copyright protection. T...
